Anirban Basu  

Chairman & CEO of Sage Policy Group, Inc.
Anirban Basu is Chairman & CEO of Sage Policy Group, Inc., an economic and policy consulting firm in Baltimore, Maryland.  Mr. Basu is among the most recognizable economists, in part because of his consulting work on behalf of numerous clients, including prominent developers, bankers, brokerage houses, energy suppliers, law firms and business associations serving as the chief economist to Associated Builders and Contractors (national) and as chief economic advisor to the Construction Financial Management Association.In recent years, he has also focused upon health economics, the economics of education and economic development.  He currently lectures at Johns Hopkins University in micro-, macro-, international and urban economics.  

Mr. Basu earned his B.S. in Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1990.  He earned his Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and his Master’s in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.  His Juris Doctor was earned at the University of Maryland School of Law in 2003.

Mike Rosa 

Senior Vice-President, Economic Development 

Mike is Senior Vice President of the Dallas Regional Chamber’s economic development program, a position he has held since 2004.  The Dallas Regional Chamber’s economic development team is responsible for economic development marketing and corporate recruitment to the region, and is privately funded by dedicated investments from local corporations.

Mike leads the economic development staff and critical relationships with regional allies, the State of Texas, the DRC’s board and executive committee and economic development investors.

From 2002 to 2004, prior to joining the Dallas Regional Chamber, Mike was a Senior Vice President with the Buxton Company, a Fort Worth-based consulting firm that selects locations for prominent national retailers and helps cities with retail-oriented economic development programs.

For fourteen years from 1988 through 2002, Mike was with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce economic development department and promoted to lead the economic development team as Senior Vice President of Economic Development.

Mike holds a Master of Science degree in economic development from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science degree in regional planning, also from Southern Miss.

During his career Mike has successfully engaged numerous corporate locations and expansions to the DFW area, including several headquarters projects such as AT&T, Comerica Bank, Fluor, Toyota, Hilti and Kubota.

In 2015, he served as chairman of the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), the 800-member statewide organization for economic developers. He also provides leadership to the DFW Marketing Team, the association of economic development professionals representing Dallas-Fort Worth area cities; and currently serves as one of Speaker Straus’ economic development appointee to the State’s 9-member incentives oversight committee.

Cancellation Policy   

  • TEXO reserves the right to cancel all or part of the above training up to 30 days prior to the scheduled event based on attendance numbers. A minimum of five people needs to be registered for this event to be held.
  • Cancellations made between 14 and 8 days prior to the start date of the activity will be refunded in full.
  • Cancellations made seven days or fewer prior to the start date of the activity, no refund but substitutions may be made.
  • Note that refund requests must be coordinated with Ashlyn Smith
