The program will present a custom program of study examining the key factors influencing leadership effectiveness and development for participants. The program addresses subjects focused on successful leadership in a complex enterprise including:
- Conflict management
- Influencing in complex environments
- Sustaining effective teams
- Professional ethics for senior members of firms seeking enhancement of their leadership capabilities.
It is ideal for experienced construction leaders making transitions to increased responsibility.
It has been designed in the spirit of practicality and utility, and places great emphasis on the immediate applicability of the knowledge to the participant’s work effort.
The program of study will be interactive and dialogue-centered. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on personal and professional skill. Successful completion of the program will give each participant the awareness and ability to be critically self-reflective and make an honest appraisal of their effectiveness. Additionally, participants will be able to devise strategies to positively influence their work groups and constituencies.
The successful participant will develop a personal leadership development plan to directly address individual and group needs and substantially impact their organization through their enhanced skills and abilities.

Get to know the Instructor: Peter A. Delisle, PhD
Peter A. DeLisle is an educator and a businessman. He is a Principal with Educet Associates, and director of the Leadership Design Studio of Dallas.
DeLisle’s background in education includes award-winning teaching in engineering, commerce and education. DeLisle is a member of the executive education faculty at the University of Notre Dame, teaching in the Mendoza College of Business and the College of Engineering. He was a Program Manager for the Center for Creative Leadership. He held the William B. Severns Chair in Human Behavior in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois in Urbana and was Professor and Leslie B. Crane Chair of Leadership Studies and Director of The Posey Leadership Institute at Austin College.
DeLisle’s industry experience includes executive leadership as chief human resources officer for Convex Computer of Richardson and as a division executive for Hewlett-Packard Company. He has helped found three successful companies and acted as an adviser, consultant and teacher of leaders in more than two hundred companies and communities over the last 30 years.
He has served as resource and adviser to the American Institute of Architects, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology; the E.M. Kauffman Foundation for Entrepreneurial Leadership; the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Governor’s Executive Leadership Program. He served as a Trustee of the Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. His recent writing and teaching include, The Architect as Leader in the Handbook for Professional Practice (15th edition, 2013), AIA; and Leadership Effectiveness, an on-line program hosted by aec Knowledge, as well as contributing to Leadership in Collaborative Architectural Practice, AIA and The University of Utah School of Architecture and Design.
DeLisle served in the United States Army as a captain of field artillery and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. He was the distinguished military graduate of the University of Connecticut in 1971.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in human resource development leadership and Phi Kappa Phi from the College of Education at the University of Texas in Austin. He was named an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects in 2014.
TEXO reserves the right to cancel all or part of the above training up to 30 days prior to the scheduled event based on attendance numbers. A minimum of five people needs to be registered for this event to be held.
Cancellations made between 14 and 8 days prior to the start date of the activity will be refunded in full.
Cancellations made seven days or fewer prior to the start date of the activity, no refund but substitutions may be made.

If a registered attendee is unable to attend the class a substitution can be made . Upon arrival the new attendee must inform the instructor or TEXO staff of the individuals' name he or she is replacing.
